Jesus Before Herod Antipas
When Pilate heard this he asked:
Is Jesus a Galilaean?
He knew that this was Herod Antipas’ jurisdiction. When the answer came back, yes, Pilate sent Jesus to Herod who was in Jerusalem for the festival.
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, for he had been wanting to see Jesus for a long time. Herod had heard about all the mighty works that Jesus did, and hoped to see a miracle.
Herod questioned Jesus at length, but Jesus would not answer him.
The chief priests and the scribes also stood before Herod accusing Jesus vehemently.
Herod and his soldiers began mocking Jesus and clothing him in gorgeous apparel, but finding nothing wrong with him, they returned him to Pilate.
Pilate and Herod, who had been bitter enemies, became friends that day.
