The Lord's Supper Instituted
As they were eating, it was the same night that the Lord was betrayed, and he took the bread and after he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples and said:
Take, eat. This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
And he took the cup in a similar manner after the supper, and he gave thanks, and said to them:
Drink all of it, for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Do this in remembrance of me, for as often as you eat this bread, and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes again.
But I will not drink anymore of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
And they all drank of it.
