Jesus Formally Condemned
Now when the morning came, the assembly of the elders gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Jesus to the council:
If you are the Christ, tell us.
Jesus said to them:
If I tell you, you will not believe.
But in the future the Son of man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
And they said:
Are you the Son of God?
And Jesus said:
You say it because I am.
And they said:
We do not need any witnesses, we have heard it out of his own mouth.
And the whole company of them rose up and bound Jesus and led him away from Caiaphas into the Praetorium and brought him before Pilate, the governor.
It was early in the morning.
