Jesus told them another parable,
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sows good seed in his field.
But as he slept the enemy came in and sowed weeds among the wheat, and then slipped away.
As soon as the blades of grain started showing, so did the weeds. The servants came and asked the owner of the field,
‘Didn’t you plant good seed? Why are weeds growing up among the wheat?’”
The man said,
“The enemy has done this.”
The servants asked if they should go and gather up the weeds. The man said,
“No, you might destroy some of the good wheat.
Let them grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers: Gather up the weeds and tie them in bundles and burn them. Then gather the wheat and put it into my barn.”
