One day Jesus came from Nazareth to the Jordan in order to be baptized by John.
But John did not want to baptize Jesus and said to Him,
“I am the one that needs to be baptized by you, and you are coming to be baptized by me?’
Jesus told John,
“Permit it to fulfill all righteousness.”
After all the others had been baptized, it came time to baptize Jesus.
After Jesus had been baptized by John, and before He was out of the Jordan River, the heavens opened up and the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form as a dove.
A voice came out of the heavens, saying,
“This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased.”
Jesus was about 30 years old and full of the Holy Spirit when He began to teach.
