As Jesus and His disciples went on their way, He entered the village of Bethany. A woman named Martha received Him into her house.
She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the feet of Jesus to hear Him teach.
Martha was very busy serving. She came to Jesus and said,
“Lord, doesn’t it bother you that Mary has left me alone to serve?”
Jesus answered and said,
“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is the most important. Mary has chosen what is important, and I will not take it away from her.”
