As they went on their way through Samaria to Jerusalem, a man came up to them and said that he would follow Jesus wherever he went. Jesus turned to the man and said,
“The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
Jesus said to another,
“Follow me.”
The man replied,
“I will follow you, but first let me say goodbye to my relatives.”
But Jesus said to him,
“If a man puts his hand to the plow and looks back, he is not fit for the kingdom of God.”
