You are the salt of the earth; but if a salt loses its flavor, how can it be made salty again? It is good for nothing and is cast out and trampled under the feet of men.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a pot. They put it on a lamp stand so that it can provide light for everyone in the house.
In the same way, you are to let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
